Unfortunately, since I broke my foot in November of 2010, I haven't been able to go down the stairs to the Screening Room, so I am back in the couch with the 60' flat-screen, but at least he brought me my foot-stool and some pillows and blankets. This foot thing SUCKS donkey balls.) where was I?

Oh, Mr Non-Couch Bouncey brought me this movie with..oh, Bruce Willis and, gee, guess what, he's playing a washed-up, beat-up old cop who just doesn't care anymore but he's got this one last thing he's gotta do before he can clock out and be done forever. Sounds kinda like every other Bruce Willis movie ever made in the history of Bruce Willis and Bruce Willis' hair. I was not thrilled when it was put into the Blu-Ray. Half an hour later, I'm getting pissed when Mr Non-Couch Bouncy is pressing pause to get a fresh Diet Coke and take a bathroom break. An hour later, I'm threatening Mr. Non-Couch-Bouncey that if he touches that remote, he will be missing digits.

By the time the ending is wrapping up, I'm in love with Mos Def all over again (loved him for his Def Poetry Jams on HBO) but the actual acting he did in this movie waws seriously overlooked by the audiences, the acting community, the casting community, - hell, everyone. He deserved an award for that. Extra-ordinary performance, stand-out performance, revelation in performance works.

Kudos, Mos def. Sorry I doubted your chops, brother.

Oh, Bruce was really good too - better than I've seen him in a long time. He didn't phone this one in at all!

Comment on A Heinous Crime : Murder One

*cracking up* For which page? blog.alexiaoniel.com or for http://www.curveswithnerves.com/? The latter was vreated for me by a friend (it's a little outdated, but I don't know the coding, so if you know someone, let ME know. This part is just for the typewritten versiopns of the reviews and doesn't really need any bells and whistles, does it? it's functioning, it doesn it's job, what's so <<<horrible>>> about it? If it's really tht awful, I can look into another template, but I don't see the need, really, for what it does at this time. When I get into podcasting and interviews (my true love, which I've been away from too long), then I'll re-examine. In the mean time, if you have some CONSTRUCTIVE criticisms, I'm all ears, petunia...
Love and sugar buns,
And if you all are so ACTIVE here - why not join the boards and post comments there, as well??
That way, I don't necessarily even have to be part of the discussion but can come back when fully healed and completely caught up!
Most of the time I am reviewing things that are already out, or have been for some time, and I am trying to draw a new audience to some well-deserved and perhaps overlooked material, or just give my perspective on the "block-busters" of the day (See National Treasure 2 and Nicolas Cage's latest hairpiece). The way I review is I want to leave a real flavor for what i saw on the screen; a tableau - a sense of a grand meal laid out and waiting for you, or else that deli meal that's just a day or two old that perhaps you might want to avoid. It's a fine line to walk, and you're right : sometimes i agonize over whether or not to give too much away, but I do it on a case by case basis (which is kind of funny, considering we're discussing "Murder One"). I'll take your comments to heart and put put a poll on the main page to see if others thing as you do - that I give too much away, and if everyone thinks I spoil the ending...well, then I just guess I'll keep these luscious lips shut!! ~~Raven
